Top 10 annoyances in Windows Vista

1. They brought back blue screen. Blue Screen

2. Lack of drivers. I like using my old printer, but Microsoft wants me to buy a new one just so it becomes Vista compatable.

3. Why no Mac? XP used to go with mac, no problems. They both seemed to want to work with each other. It was easy to network, share files, and share printers. no problem. But Vista won’t allow it. Why?

4. High system specs. Why does it need so much more RAM and CPU and all that for running programs, when XP didn’t? I understand DX10 uses more, but double? That’s just excessive.

5. Lack of driver support. I know I already brought this up, but it is so annoying, it needs to be in here again.

6. Programs becoming unresponsive for no real reason. Programs will just freeze for no reason, or crash without warning or cause. They just….die.

7. Warning boxes! I know that anyone who uses Vista hates, no…. despises all those warning boxes that pop up. “—-.exe would like your permission to install” “Vista needs your permission to continue” “Vista would like to warn you. Would you like to allow this warning?” etc. It’s so irritating. I get especially annoyed when I try to install something and the warning goes into the background, and doesn’t pop up, nor let me install the file until I notice its in the bottom waiting for me to acknowledge it exists so I can approve. To me, its dumb and a feeble attempt at “security.”

8. Lack of application support. Some programs just dont work. That bothers me to no extent. I was told all my programs should run, and then they do not. I bought Bioshock and I had it installed in XP, but then it wouldn’t run at all in Vista. That bothered me, and there is no way I can see to get it to work. I did everything possible, and it still won’t work. I gave up. If anyone knows how, let me know.

9. Blue Screens. These are so annoying! I know they have been mentioned, but they are so annoying, they make me want to install vista and wipe my hard drive clean! They are that bad to me.

10. Java. I don’t know if this is just Vista, but i didn’t notice this in XP at all. It just ran smoothly and quickly. But in vista its slow, and takes forever to initialize.

That’s my top 10. If anyone wants to tell me theirs, I’d appreciate it.

Refering to no 7 this can easily be disabled
by dissabling UAC in Control Panel
and apart from that i have had no problems!

Not a fan of Vista when it first came out, not a fan of it today. We think we’ll wait until the next new OS is suppose to hit the market in about 2010-ish and see what it’s like.

Yeah we’ll stick with our Mac’s and XP, well actually that’s why we just went out and bought a new system with XP on it and stayed away from Vista.
