Solid State drives are here to stay

Have been testing some Solid State Drives lately and I have to admit they are doing well in all of my performance tests. I will be touching briefly on these; there is not enough time right now to go too deep into the topic. You might be wondering, , why would I say this? The speed of the Solid state drives are a bit slower then say the SATA II hard drives but the best application for the Solid state drives is a laptop replacement not a desktop replacement. I have found during my testing that a solid state drive will perform better since there are no moving parts. The boot up process is faster, the battery last a lot longer, almost a hour longer in some cases, all of this helps to increase productivity. The Solid state drives are very durable, I have dropped them, threw them, shaken them and they all run perfectly. Right now the price is very high for the size you get but the price will eventually come down. I see the solid state drive market to really take off in the fourth quarter 2008 to the second quarter 2009.
