Oregon Wine & Food Experiences - A Tour of Willamette Valley Italian Wines

My wife and I spent a recent Saturday the best way we know how: tasting wine. Our friend Candice happens to be a wine expert, having spent many years in the business and is now in the process of launching her own customized Oregon wine & dining tour business. We initiated the process by giving her a basic theme: Italian (based on family heritage). She researched wineries and vineyards that fit the theme and put together a customized tour.
She picked us up at our house around noon and whisked us off to our first stop. For the long ride, she supplied us with beverages, snacks and good reading (The Wine Bible, etc.). At each of the stops, she made sure we were taken care of. Candice also provided helpful background information in each stop and, as appropriate, each wine. She also did a great job of making sure the employees knew their stuff as well.
She expertly navigated the chasm between my novice wine knowledge and my wife’s enthusiast status. We both felt very comfortable; able to ask any questions and even make a few SNAFUs (like rinsing the glass between pours). Our final impromptu stop for dinner ended up being a nice way to round out the day, with crepes at Le Happy. Read about our Oregon wine tour on Candice’s Wine & Food Experiences blog.
I can’t say enough about the experience, and highly recommend it to anyone.
