Pen Pals

You know, maybe I am a little slow on the uptake :0 but I was sitting here reading all the comments and realized…..wow, this blogging thing is kind of like having pen pals and kind of like having your private diary read around the world!
When I was a young person (no wisecracks, please, about the Stone Age and whether or not the wheel had been invented then), I had several pen pals both here in the U.S and in Europe. We would write letters to each other about our lives. We would share our experiences and what it was like in our part of the world. When I read your comments from various parts of the world, it takes me back to my pen pal days. I really, really enjoy reading about where you live and what is happening in your location.
Also in my day and age, all the teenage girls had diaries that they would write in. It was very private and no one was supposed to look in it. We even had a key to lock it up. Personally, I think diaries were invented by parents so they could read them and find out what you were doing. Besides if you had seen the locks, you’d know they could have been picked with a bobby pin (do you know what a bobby pin is??) Anyway, blogging is like your diary only without the lock! Well, and maybe without some of the really personal stuff too

I feel the same way, Judy. I have a personal blog over at http://www.katzcorner.com/blog if you ever want to stop by that one, as well. I talk about my girls and my granddaughter there, my love life (actually… the lack therof), feelings, everything. I tend to just let it go there. I write for ME, not for everyone else. Beware the occasional curse word.
When I first started blogging there, I felt this sense of relief almost. FINALLY I had a place all my own where I could be the real ME… let my hair down, say how I really think and feel. The way I see it, if someone isn’t happy with a post there, they don’t have to read. My blog here on LG is different, as you well know.
