Seattle Area Attractions

Whoa, I totally realized that I haven’t posted anything about how we finished our great Alaskan trip! We spent two weeks sight-seeing in both Washington and Oregon and saw only a fraction of each state. Today I wanted to write and post pictures of what we did in Seattle.
Since many of the Gnomedex parties have been hosted at several Seattle points of interest, we had seen quite a bit of Seattle already. Just to name a few, we have seen the Experience Music Project, Odyssey, The Maritime Discovery Center,
The Seattle Aquarium, Museum of Flight and I was very impressed with the innovative public library. We always enjoy browsing around the Pike Place Market so, of course, had to do some shopping this time around too. Ok, ok, so we also had to hit the first Starbucks and one or two (or three or four) of the yummy food shops. Wow, does Seattle have some awesome, diverse food!
Since there is so much more to see in Seattle, we took in a few more attractions in our time there. I think I have stated before that I really like visiting historical sites and museums so we spent a very interesting time at the Klondike Gold Rush NHP , which is really only half a National Park. There other half being in Skagway, Alaska (we didn’t see Skagway when we were in Alaska so I think that constitutes another rode trip!). We also took in Pioneer Square, which included the Underground Tour (pictures below).
While Joe and Chris, our son, went in search of a sports bar that would televise an Iowa Hawkeye game (man stuff), Ponzi, our daughter-in-law, and I went to the Tillicum Indian Village (girl stuff). We spent a very pleasant evening enjoying the boat ride to the island, the salmon dinner, the tribal show. Unfortunately, by the time we did all that, there wasn’t enough time to walk around the perimeter of island and make it back on time for the return boat trip. I bet it would have been a very nice walk because what little we saw had some gorgeous scenery (pictures below).
We also spent some time just hanging around at Chris and Ponzi’s so that was very relaxing (see Joe and Pixie below). Chris and Ponzi took us to Rover’s, which is a restaurant that served 7+ courses of small portions so you could taste many different foods. It was a very special evening for us.

Judy,
I found your tactful response to the ‘crappy’ comment interesting. In my own case it was a granddaughter we reared from the age of five. She demanded that I quit blogging NOW. I didn’t cave in to her pressure; but I sometimes feel some self censorship before I publish. There goes the free speech!
I have discovered a wonderful blogger in Canada who has been married over 60 years and I think she must have been an English teacher. She is handy with a camera as well. Her blog ‘daybyday’ and worth a look once in a while. Your writing reminds me of her.
From another non-knitter!

One place I recommend is the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma Washington. The one place I go everytime I go over to Seattle.
