Making the Upgrade: Windows 7

Well, it’s been a few weeks since the release of Windows 7 and so far I have heard nothing but great thoughts on it! So, I’m very much thinking about switching from Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit to Windows 7, to either Premium or Professional. Which edition would you choose?
To be honest, this would be my first time installing an operating system. I thought it would be a bit hard, but after watching numerous YouTube videos and asking around, it sounds pretty easy. And well, exciting! If Windows 7 is as great as an upgrade from Vista as everyone has said, then this would be well worth it.
As far as specs, I have more than enough power to run 7. A 2.3 Ghz dual core (AMD) 4 GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 250 GB hard drive. So, all should run well. I’ve been debating whether to switch for a very long time. Always arguing that Windows Vista always did the job for me. And it did. But I have been playing around with Windows 7, watching tutorials on it, and talking to various people, I have concluded that this upgrade would be more than necessary.
So, possibly this coming weekend, I will be purchasing Windows 7, Home Premium or Professional. Which would you choose? And is it worth it in your opinion?

I’m assuming you’re deciding on these two versions because like myself, you are a student who can get either for $30. I too have been debating the upgrade but have decided to upgrade and will purchase the professional edition sometime later this week. I’m currently running Home Premium and will upgrade for the few new features include automated backup and domain join. For the same price why not?
