This is fraud.
Since these types of crimes are on the rise, it is imperative that you report them.
Occasionally, an e-mail to your internet provider will suffice to block such e-mail or a notification to the respectable party that is being spoofed – the IRS Phising internet address, for example.
Sometimes, however, it is necessary to notify law enforcement officials especially when money or property is at risk or worse – taken. The Internet Crime Complaint Center will act as a conduit and take pertinent information that will than be forwarded to the FBI or local law enforcement officials.
