The Portrait of America
This year the U.S. Census Bureau will be sending out the census forms in the mail. It’s important that every American be tallied and counted.

The census? As far as I’m concerned they can kiss my butt. Everything they need to know they can get from the IRS and Social Security. There’s no reason for yet another government bureaucracy to invade our lives under the false reasoning that it’s a good thing for the populace.

The Constitution prescribes the Census. There is good reason to have it. It determines our representation in the legislature. It allows us to track our ancestors and determine from where our family roots came from.
Those are the good things about the Census. But as with all good things, man in his infinite ability to corrupt everything has most certainly corrupted the census. It has become a tool for business to market products, a tool for the government to extend control over the people beyond what the Constitution allows.
I will not support the census until it gets back to the basics of name, family members, birthplace, and age. Look at any US Census prior to 1920 and they contain all that is necessary. That is what is necessary today!
