Starbucks Money Saving Tips

Starbucks Coffee is one of the more famous coffee joints in the United States. With fame comes price. While you are usually guaranteed the same quality drink at almost every Starbucks Coffee location — some of the baristas are better at making certain drinks. After spending a year working with Starbucks Coffee, I have learned a few tips to help you save money.
- If you want syrup in your drink, ask fro a few pumps less. An iced Venti drink gets six pumps of syrup in it. Ask for four pumps instead and chances are you won’t get charged. However, you could register your Starbucks gift card online and get free syrup/milk in your drinks.
- If you want a latte, get a misto instead (ask for half and half as your milk). A misto has coffee instead of espresso. It is cheaper and will give you more of a ‘caffeine high’. if you want it iced, go for an iced coffee with heavy cream (as opposed to an iced latte).
- The coffee used for espresso shots is a very bold roast. This means that it is roasted longer — and in turn, it loses a lot of the caffeine. Coffee based beverages (instead of espresso) are usually cheaper and have more caffeine in them than an espresso based beverage. However, you have to watch what roast of coffee they are brewing. Something like Sumatra is really bold and thus, does not have a lot of caffeine in it.

Actually you are wrong about a few things. You only get charged .30 1 time for your order. You could get 10 pumps of syrup or more you are still only going to get charged 1 time. Now if you have two different types of syrups.. lets say vanilla and hazelnut we will charge you .60.
The registered gift cards do give you free syrups EXCEPT mocha and white mocha. You also get a free tall beverage of your choice when you use your registered gift card to buy a lb of coffee. Two free hours of Wi-fi. Free soy, breve (half and half). Yes you get charged extra for soy and half and half in your latte, or your mocha.
We use to think that Bold coffee had less caffeine in it than Mild and Medium Blend. Our manager got an email from the DM who got it from higher up that this was not true. So no Espresso does not have less caffeine. Espresso shots are concentrated.
