Syncing an iPod touch Calendar to Windows?

The calendar on the iPod touch is probably one of my favorite features. It allows me to keep track of what I need to do on a daily basis. However, there is one thing that I have not been able to do.

I would love to be able to sync my iPod touch Calendar with a calendar program that runs on Windows. Windows Calendar would be best (since it is now the Outlook calendar that is supposed to work with this feature). iTunes tells me that I do not have a supported calendar feature.

Does anyone know how to sync the iPod touch Calendar to a calendar that runs on Windows (and vice versa)?

Have you considered just using Google Calendar and view your calendar on-line? I don’t have an iPhone or an iPod Touch but I do have the newest version of Safari which allows me to user a User Agent and mimic the iPod Touch version of Safari. I switched to it and was able to login to my Google Calendar account. While it this way is quite limited, it is better than nothing.

I thought about it, however I am not always near an internet connection. Especially when I need to add something to my calendar. That is one of the downsides of the iPod Touch.

iTunes syncs my iPod Touch calendar with Outlook. It does a two-way sync, so anything I add on the device shows up on the desktop, and vice versa.

However, I my sync from Google Calendar to Outlook is one way. So I can’t add something on the device and have it show up on my shared calendar. That would be killer.

BTW, here’s a useful hack. If you want to leave yourself a note, add an event to the calendar on the iPod Touch for right now (or less than an hour in the future). Turn on the alert for the event. Then, the next time you sync with iTunes, the event will get copied into Outlook and it will alert you.

Thanks! Figured this out last night — still working out the fine details….Appreciate the comment =)
