iPod Touch Maps Application

Ever wonder how you can use the iPod Touch Maps Application when you do not always have an active internet connection on your Touch? I wondered the exact same thing, and have found out the answer!

The maps application for the iPod Touch revolutionizes GPS technology — mostly in the sense that it is not a true GPS device. Here is how to work it:

  • While you have an active internet connection, click on the Maps application and type in your starting and ending address
  • Once done, click route and the route will begin to plan
  • Once this step is done, you can store the trip by not doing anything. When you are ready to use it, pull up the maps application and press start
  • The iPod will give you step by step directions for you to complete. Once you finish each step you (or preferably your wingman passenger) can press “next” to get the next step in the directions

It is a great little tool is you are trying to get somewhere that you have no clue where it is. The only thing I wish is that you could save multiple trips at once.
