A Flaw in the iPod touch

Every week I try to post at least one blog about my beloved iPod touch. Usually the article is either a how-to, a pro or maybe some news related to the iPod touch. However, I decided that it is time to post a flaw with my new favorite toy. Be warned — this is the only flaw that I have seen with the iPod touch thus far.
The iPod touch acts more like a PDA than an MP3 player. Therefore, whenever you turn it on it has to boot up. The boot up period lasts anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute — I have not actually timed it. When I want to turn on my iPod to check my mail, or add something to my calendar, the boot time is a little annoying.
Nevertheless, the delay in start time is more than worth it. I would rather have all of the functions of my iPod touch and have to wait 30 seconds than have a PDA, an iPod, and a day planner. The iPod is so much more convenient, I would never give it up. Unless of course something better was released.

I also have an iPod Touch, and I love it. It’s the 16Gb version with the Jan update. I got it almost right off the first run in Sept 07.
Anyway, mine doesn’t take quite that long to boot. I timed it at 18 to 20 secs. My question is: why do you power it off at all? Just leave it power-saving mode.

The reason I turn Mine’s off is because the cache from all the apps you run make it lag in time..
But hey, Do what you do

Harvey - you should be able to use it back home. As long as you have access to iTunes and a computer. You might try asking the people in the Apple store for some advice as well. They can give you a definite answer.

Technically there is no software that you can install on the iTouch without jail breaking it. However, the App Store is going to be released very soon from Apple.
