E-Mail:

The Apple Mail Application for the iPhone/iPod Touch

I was very excited when I bought the mail application for my iPod Touch — however, I am no longer pleased with it.  I mean it is great to get mail on my iPod touch, however I could do that before.

The mail application undoes everything that the Gmail has set out to do.  With gmail, my emaisl are saved as conversations — which means that every time someone replies to one of my emails, it shows up in the previous email.  I do not get a new email every time someone replies to a conversation.  This makes my inbox super organized, because everything I need is in one place — I do not need to search for a certain response.

With the mail application on my iPod Touch, chaos has been unleashed.  I download my mail (when I am near an internet connection) and I get around 20 emails — all are replies to my old emails.  It is annoying, especially because it is not the normal gmail.  I think I am better off making a web-clip and adding it to my home page.

This does not mean that I am not impressed with the iPod Touch software — I love it.  As Chris said in a video — the maps application is worth the $20 alone, if not more.
