Fox Reality: Moment of Truth

Fox aired a new TV show tonight, where contestants answer questions about their personal life in front of their family and America — for a chance at $500,000 dollars. The question is — would you be willing to undergo this ‘torture’ for half a million dollars?

And for the first contestant, an ex-football player named Ty Keck (at left, with his wife Catia), banter between questions is pretty good: “So, you’re from a small town, huh? Small town guy with small town values, right? So…. (music ratchets up) Question 3: You ever hit a car and not leave a note?” (Link)

While I think that this show was very fun to watch — we have to remember that there are people’s marriages, jobs and their overall lives at stake here. Sure, they agreed to be on the show — but in the end I do not think that anyone would have thought that such a show would have ended their marriage.

After the types of questions that were asked, it would not surprise me to see a few divorces pop up, or jobs lost. Another contestant on the show admitted to searching through co-workers belongings (without their permission) right in front of hi boss! Is it right for a job to fire their employee after seeing them tell the truth on this game show? I want to hear your thoughts on the issue.
