As the Holidays begin to come to a close, we have to start thinking about taking down the decorations and getting the house back into its normal look. If you are like my family, you will have a lot of decorations to take down. To avoid getting bored, try assigning different tasks throughout the family — or doing everything in stages. Here is a possible order of how to get everything back into the “norm”:

Day 1: Take down the stockings and fireplace decorations. Start taking ornaments off of the tree

Day 2: Finish taking down the tree (or other center decoration). Pack it away

Day 3: Start on the outside decorations. Break it into two days if needed

Day 4: Vacuum areas of the house where large decorations stood. Move furniture back into the normal spot.

In just four days it is possible to clean up all of your holiday decorations, with minimal stress. Stress is the last thing that anyone needs this time of the year.
