Review: Xbox 360 ChatPad

I bought a ChatPad for my Xbox 360 today. If you have played Xbox Live before — you know how much of a hassle it is to manually move to each letter with the joystick. The ChatPad is the perfect solution.

The pad hooks into the bottom of your wireless or wired controller. It comes with a new headset that hooks into the ChatPad. The ChatPad offers a full QWERTY keyboard with a backlight for playing at night (or in the dark).

Pros:

  • Fits comfortably under the controler
  • Not bulky or heavy
  • Makes typing that much easier (I connect to MSN and chat with friends while playing)
  • More comfortable headset

Cons:

  • $30 dollars for a mini QWERTY keyboard is a bit expensive. The new headset offsets the price a little
  • A keyboard can do the same thing — connected through a front or rear USB port (can’t use wireless keyboards though)

This is a great addition for anyone who is a Xbox Live Gamer and does a lot of typing via the Xbox.
