Hewlett Packard and My New Laptop

Hewlett Packard finally offered me a reasonable solution. Since they have yet to even start repairing my Pavillion tx1000, and pushed the delivery date back to 12/28, they offered me a replacement. They offered me either a new tx1000 or a dv6500. Since they have not acknowledged that the tx1000 issue is indeed a hardware issue, I elected to take the dv6500. This computer is actually better compared to be tx 1000:

15.4″ LCD (compared to the 12.1″)

2GB RAM (same)

160GB HD (compared to 120GB)

2.0ghz processor (same)

Vista Business (same)

6 cell and 12 cell batteries (compared to 8cell)

MS Officer 2007 Student Edition (Compared to nothing)

Webcam/microphone/fingerprint reader (same)

Not a tablet (compared to a tablet)

Headphones (not sure why — but ok)

The new laptop (yes it is new — not refurbished) will be here by 12/21. While it took HP a long time to finally find a solution to the problem, I am happy with what they offered. The other solution was a complete refund. However they would send me a check via USPS in 7-10 days. I do not trust $1400 through the US Mail system. Besides, I like HP computers — they just need to work on their Customer Service.

Thanks everyone for their support. I will be sure to post pictures of the new laptop upon it’s arrival.

I’m glad to hear that your situation was pretty much fixed. I actually got a personal response back from HP when I provided them with feedback about your situation. They said “We are currently dealing with the client’s situation that you refer to and hope that you will be satisfied with their results.” Hopefully this is situation doesn’t happen to anyone else again with HP. I guess this means that I can buy/recommend other non-HP computer products again. Not sure if I just them with HP computers yet but we will see in due time.
