Every week, grocery shopping is a big part of my expenses. I try and do a few things to keep my costs down. Here are a few hints and tips to save money, without having to clip coupons:
- Make a list, and stick to it for the most part
- Go shopping after you have eaten a full meal. When you are full, you are less likely to buy every food item that sounds good
- Don’t feel like you need to buy the name brand stuff. In most cases the “grocery store” brand is made in the exact same factory as the name brand stuff
- Get a savings card from your local grocery store, they are usually free
- Stores like Albertsons do not have savings cards, they automatically pass savings onto everyone
- Take advantage of special deals in the store, such as; buy one get one free
- 2 for $5 does not mean that you have to buy two of the item to get the deal! One item is $2.50
Hope that helps,
-Justin
