Internet Woes

For the past 48 hours, I have been without internet at my apartment. It usually goes down every Thursday and comes up Friday morning. This week was a little different. The internet went out Wednesday afternoon. 24 hours later I decided to go find out what the problem was. It turns out that the internet for the whole complex went out (I could have guessed that). The “goal” is to have it fixed at some point today. However, I highly doubt it will happen. Hopefully I am wrong.
Whenever the internet goes out, I am always amazed at how much we rely on the world wide web for our day to day tasks. Since the internet has gone out, here is what I have missed/problems that have occured:
- My TiVo is warning me that there is only two days of TV scheduled left. Without an active internet connection I cannot record anything after tomorrow.
- Class Notes. Teachers post notes online. Without the internet, I cannot get to them.
- Email. Email is how I stay in touch with family in the states, and over seas.
- Instant Messangers. I use IM clients almost every day, all day.
- Facebook. I can’t play my scrabble game!
Until the internet gets fixed, I’ll be playing Assassin’s Creed on my 360. Which, by the way, is an amazing game.
