The Problem With Social Networking Websites

Social networking sites are a great way for people to stay in touch with friends from school, different cities or even countries.  I used to be a fan of Myspace in high school, however it slowly went down hill.  Myspace quickly became more about making a sparkling webpage than about friends.

You can do so much with a Myspace webpage, it becomes a pain to have to wait for every aspect to load.  Even on a high speed internet connection, loading the music, images and other junk can take awhile.  This is the main reason I left Myspace and started with Facebook.

Facebook used to be simple.  You have a wall, where people leave you comments.  You also had an area for pictures.  However, Facebook has started to become like Myspace.  Users can add applications ranging from sports, alcohol, classes, games and tons more.  While you still cannot edit the user interface on Faebook (and for that I am thankful), it is becoming more and more like Myspace on a weekly basis.

These changes happened awhile ago, however I was prompted to write this today.  The applications on Facebook rarely work, and give you some stupid message.  If they are going to improve the website with “third party” applications, they should make sure the applications are actually working.
