LUXOR, Egypt (AP) — The linen wrapped mummy of King Tut was put on public display for the first time on Sunday — 85 years after the 3,000-year-old boy pharaoh’s golden enshrined tomb and mummy were discovered in Luxor’s famed Valley of the Kings.  Archeologists removed the mummy from his stone sarcophagus in his underground tomb, revealing his shriveled leather-like face and body.” (Link)

The tomb of King Tutankhamen is a wonderful discovery.  He was a young king of Ancient Egypt, and his cause of death has been a debate for many years.  In 2005, King Tut was removed from his tomb and scanned on a portable CT Scanner.  The scans showed that he was not violently murdered, however murder can never be completely ruled out.

King Tut was the son of Amenhotep III, and as the next of kin, he became king when Amenhotep III died.  There are many suspicions as to why King Tut died so young, but to dive into those, you’ll need to take a class on Ancient Egypt.

If you’re near Luxor , Egypt swing by and take a look at King Tut.
