It’s Time for a Workout… For Your Brain!

That’s right, it is time for a workout, but not the kind you are usually used to. Instead of running for 30 minutes, run for 25 and give those extra five minutes to your brain! Around the age of 16, you start losing neurons. This means that it is not as easy to learn new things, but nothing is impossible!
There are a few short exercises that you can do in your home to help your brain stay mentally fit. You are on the computer right now, because you are reading this blog. Try using your non-primary hand to use the mouse. This will feel odd, and things will be harder to do. The more you do this, the easier it will get. Your brain is creating new connections as you read! You can do this exercise when dialing a phone number, stirring cookie dough, brushing your teeth or even eating (put your fork in the other hand, for example).
Now, let’s do some physical brain exercises! Tomorrow morning, try getting dressed with your eyes closed, try eating a meal with your eyes closed (but please do be careful). If you walk to work or to the bus stop, try taking a different route.
These small exercises can do a lot of good for your brain, and to make things better, you can do all of this from your home. Who said exercise was difficult?

Great tips, might give them a try. I also found this product that works great if you practice it a few minutes a day http://www.braintrainage.com/. Kinda like the Gameboy advanced game, but for PC.

Also Big Brain Academy helps as well, but as you said mixing up your routine helps greatly in helping you learn more. I found after going to college that it is harder for me to grasp new concepts and remember them.
Great article!!!

I recommend simple algebra for anything you can apply it to - you budget, company expenses, car payments - anything! Think what if - what if that went up by x amount, how would that affect me year-on-year, or what if I had another y, how would that improve z…
Try to work out the tax or tip in your head - they’re not usually difficult percentages, and you can easily and quickly break numbers down to perform mathematics on them…
