The Wii zapper is a Nintendo Wii accessory that when used with the right game, it can dramatically enhance your shooting experience. For those who don’t know, the Wii Zapper is essentially a white piece of plastic that is shaped like a gun and turns your B button into a trigger. The Wii zapper should only be used on first person shooters. Even though you shoot in GTA style games, the Wii Zapper will not work well with elements of the game that are not shooting. A couple games that work well with the Wii Zapper are games like Medal Of Honor and Resident Evil. The Wii Zapper also works best when you are fairly close to a large TV. On a small TV it is much harder tell what you are aiming at. It is also very important to make sure that the sensor bar and the Wii Remote are synced properly so that the aimer on the screen in inline with the Wii Remote. This accessory makes a great inexpensive gift for someone with a Wii.

A very popular game this holiday season will be Guitar Hero World Tour. There have been four games in the Guitar Hero series but Guitar Hero World Tour is the first to have drums and singing in addition to guitar. It was released in October of 2008 for the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The game is sold in three different versions. You can buy the game with just the game disk which retails for 49.99. You can buy it with the guitar and game disk which retails for 99.99. Or you can buy the “Complete Band Game” that includes the drum kit, microphone and guitar for 189.99. The game comes with 86 songs not including the downloadable content. Additional songs usually cost $2 each or you can buy three songs for 5.50. Downloadable content does take up a lot of space so I would highly recommend downloading to an SD card rather than to the Wii hard drive. There is a mode exclusive to the Wii called “Mii Freestyle.” Mii Freestyle is a mode where you can play your own songs using your Mii characters. Mii Freestyle can only be played by one or two people, either a guitarist, a drummer or both. The drums can be played with the drum kit that comes with the band game or you can play air drums using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. In addition to the Mii Freestyle there is a very in-depth song editor to create custom songs. This editor is not exclusive to the Wii and comes with all systems. Songs created in this can be uploaded to “GH Tunes” where anybody can download and play them for free. My only complaint about the game is the song list. I prefer the song list in Guitar Hero 3 to Guitar Hero World Tour. Overall, I think it’s a great game and I give it a 9/10.

On December 10, 2007, Jagex announced that they were no longer going to make the wilderness PvP and that instead, they would give non members access to the duel arena which was the only other main area for PvP. A few days ago, on October 15, 2008, Jagex announced that they had released whole PvP worlds similar to those PvP worlds in the popular game World of Warcraft. The only difference is that in the PvP worlds in RuneScape, anybody will be able to attack anybody anywhere and in World of Warcraft, only the Horde and Alliance can fight each other.

The only non-PvP areas in RuneScape PvP worlds are “banks, respawn points, and some guilds.” I think that the PvP areas are a great idea because they give people a lot of area to fight and you won’t have to worry too much about people running away because there is nowhere to run. What do you think about the recent update of PvP worlds?

A lot of this software is free and available to download right from the site. They have everything from games to drivers to utilities available exclusively for the Mac. You can even review and read other reviews about the software before you download it. New content is being added daily so I suggest you check it out.

I have been playing this game for a few days and I am already addicted to it. First Star Online 3 is the third game in its series and it is by far the best. It has fun skills, nice players, and a good variety of items. The main thing that turns people away from this game is its horrible graphics. They are Pokemon style graphics so they are not 3d. The only way you could enjoy this game is if you are not big on graphics and gameplay is more important to you. The only currency of the game is “gold” which you can get by killing monsters, trading with players, or selling to shops. You can play for 100% free for as long as you want but you will always have the option to “register” your account for a one time fee of $25. Some of the advantages of “registering” are that you get a free 5000 gold in your bank, you gain the ability to start guilds, and broadcast messages to the entire server. The game is available via a free download for mac or pc from http://www.firststaronline3.net/.

First Star Online 2 is a very unpopular game. Not many gamers have heard of it but I believe that if a lot of people knew about it it would be a much more popular game. The only thing that might make most gamers turn away from it is its horrible graphics. They are not even slightly 3D. The other bad thing about the game is that it does not have many different items and items that use the same purpose also tend to look very similar. The great thing about this game is that it has an optional $25 one time fee so it is very cheap and it is extremely fun. This game is available for windows and macintosh and you can download it from the games website. There are many unique skills and ideas about this game that i have not seen in any other RPG in the world. I rate this game a 5/10.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is definitely my favorite game for the Wii. The first Super Smash Bros. game was Super Smash Bros. This game cane out in 1999 for the Nintendo 64 and it originally had 8 characters to choose from. The second game in the series was Super Smash Bros. Melee. This game came out in 2001 for the Nintendo Gamecube and it had 26 characters to choose from. The third and current game in the series is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This game came out in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii and has 35 characters to choose from. For those of you who don’t know, the Super Smash Bros. series is basically a side scroller fighting game between a bunch of Nintendo characters(and 1 SEGA character). Super Smash Bros. Brawl brings a lot of new features to the table including online play, a stage builder, and the ability to use more than one type of controller. My favorite new feature is the online play where you can play against your friends or anyone in the world who is on at the same time as you. The best thing about this is that it is free and your Wii can connect to the internet using your wifi connection! The only complaints I have about the online play are that it sometimes can get laggy although it never really gets that bad, my other complaint is that you can not use any of the custom stages including the pre-made ones. The stage builder is extremely easy to use and very customizable even down to the stage background and music so i don’t really have any complaints about that. You can use 4 different types of controllers to play the game, the controller options are the Wii remote and nunchuck, the Wii remote alone, a Gamecube controller, and the Wii classic controller. My favorite out if these options is the Gamecube controller because it has the yellow c stick which makes it a lot easier to do certain moves. This game is perfect for when you have friends over (the more people playing the better) and I rate it a 9/10.

For those of you who don’t know, a Runescape private server is basically the same exact game but you can do anything you want. You have infinite money, items, highest possible stats, and so on. The reason this is possible is because a private server is separate from Jagex and is hosted by a 3rd party. The only Runescape private server I am aware of right now is one that is called Moparscape. I tried using Moparscape once and I was not very impressed. It was very laggy and there seemed to be a lot of glitches. Do you know of any better Runescape private servers that work? I recommend you try Moparscape anyway, maybe you will have better luck than me.

Bully: Scholarship Edition for Wii is definitely a great choice if you don’t already own it for the PS2. If you don’t know what Bully is, the best way for me to describe it is a mix between GTA and Harry Potter. You play as a boy named Jimmy Hopkins who was forced to go to Bullworth Academy by his mother and stepfather. You basically try to work your way up from being “the new kid” to end up taking over the school.

You do favors for people and gradually gain respect with the different cliques to become their leader. The days are broken up into school days where you have class similar to Harry Potter, but similar to GTA, you can choose to follow the missions or do whatever you want in the town/school. You have class at certain times every day that you don’t have to go to, but you get rewarded with new abilities/items if you pass the class.

With the new version of Bully (Scholarship Edition) not much has been changed since the old PS2 version; it has four new classes (Biology, Music, Math, Geography), eight new missions, and some new unlockables. It is definitely not worth upgrading if you have the PS2 version. I would definitely recommend this game to people new to Bully. The same game is also available for Xbox 360. I give it an 8/10.

Neopets is a completely free browser based MMO. It mostly appeals to children but many adults play it too. A lot of the game can be luck depending on how you play it, there are several luck based mini games such as the lottery, scratch cards, slot machines, and so on. The game currency is “Neo Pionts”(NP), which are mostly obtained from playing simple mini games and getting high scores. You can only do most things a few times a day so it is very easy to get bored when you run out of things to do. Each player can have up to four Neopets at a time and over 240,000 Neopets exist. There is not much interaction between players, so people who want a good social community to be a part of may not like this game. I rate this game a 5/10.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
