Google Earth and YouTube

Google has introduced a new layer to it’s Google Earth product, video. You can now overlay YouTube video to locations on the earth. This gives users the ability to watch video associated with a place. Assigning geographic information is called geo-tagging, generators of YouTube videos can do this.

The idea of geo-tagging is similar to Flickr’s feature of associating pictures with a location. Pretty soon with real-time cameras we’ll be able to virtually go anywhere in the world.
