I read that Volkswagen is going to pay to offset one year’s worth of carbon dioxide emissions for every new vehicle it sells in the US before 01/02/2008. it is going to work with carbonfund.org to reforest the lower Mississippi valley and wetlands in norther Louisiana. Volkswagen indicates this area with its trees and soil absorb 450 tons of CO2 per acre, compared to less than half that amount from other reforestation efforts.
