Okay, Okay. To Be Fair…

I really should give equal time. I was curious about what Google Earth would do with Beijing, given my experience with MS maps. Well, Google has better pictures, but when you get closer to objects, we go to “cartoon” land and nothing is legible. MS must have decided to just give up where Google actually attempts to produce some sort of rendering with no legible detail.

So the two are not all that different when you zoom in far enough. At least Google makes you feel like you are seeing something!

UPDATE!

Just for fun I put Military Installations in the Search box on Google Earth, and US in the where box. I got lots of places in the US. So then I put China in the where box. China must have no military installations. I got a JavaScript message box that said no results found!
