Word 2007 makes it easy to apply a style. Instead of having to open a list and scroll through various styles, you can use your keyboard to apply a style on the fly.
For example, if you want to apply the Normal style to a paragraph, place your cursor in the paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+N.
Some other useful keystrokes include:
- Apply Heading 1 style: Alt-Ctrl-1
- Apply Heading 2 style: Alt-Ctrl-2
- Apply Heading 3 style: Alt-Ctrl-3
- Promote a heading paragraph to the next-highest level (for example, Heading 2 to Heading 1): Shift-Alt-Left arrow
- Demote a heading paragraph to the next-lowest level (for example, Heading 1 to Heading 2): Shift-Alt-Right arrow
