When I first discovered what Google did to make query results instant, I was admittedly excited. But after using it for a few days, I am finding finding it more annoying than helpful.

Granted, Google Instant is putting needed search results front and center. And there is something really nice about this. But I don’t like having to actually turn this off just to avoid it. Then again, perhaps I am just being petty.

As for how this might put Google ahead of Bing, Yahoo, among others… they already are. I doubt that Google Instant will woo anyone not already using it and I certainly don’t believe that happy Bing users are going to suddenly make the switch over to Google, either.

For my money, I believe most people will start turning off the Instant feature due to it becoming too much of a distraction. Perhaps I am wrong. My gut tells me that I’m not though.
