A Vacation From Tech?
I enjoy and fully appreciate the opportunities that have been given to me. And as luck would have it, a large part of what I do for a living involves the latest and greatest technology. Despite all of these good things, there will always be days in which all that can go wrong will. And often at once.
Today was such a day and after being very frustrated, perhaps even a bit overheated about the day’s events, I have come to realize something. It helps to simply walk away for a bit from whatever is creating problems for you. Like most geeks, I wanted to throw myself into the issue at hand in hopes of finding that eureka moment when all of the issues fall into one place, followed by a well-deserved slap on the forehead. Sadly, this proved to be a mistake as I ended up having to throw in the towel on a number of the issues for the day.
So the lesson I’d like, along with some of my readers, to take away from this is as follows: When things are driving you completely batty, stop, step back, and take a mini-vacation from the issue at hand for an hour or so. Because not doing so will drive you up a wall and often the issue at hand goes unresolved.
