Search The Internet From Your Start Menu In Windows 7

You can use the Search box on the Windows 7 Start menu to search more than your computer. You can also use the Search box to search the Internet. All you need to do is enable the Add search internet link to the Start Menu option. The enable this feature in Windows 7:

  1. From the Start menu, type ‘gpedit.msc’ (without quotes) in the Search box.
  2. Press enter to open the Group Policy Editor.
  3. Navigate to User ConfigurationAdministrative Templates Start Menu and Taskbar.
  4. Double click the Add search internet link to Start Menu option.
  5. Select Enabled and click OK.
  6. Close the Group Policy Editor.

Now, when you type anything in the Search box on the Start menu, a Search the Internet link appears. Simply click the link to launch the search in your Web browser.
