Apple And Google: Bubbles Waiting To Pop?
Lately it seems like Apple and Google are in a race to see who can get poked by the FTC first. Even more recently, we have Apple and Google going at it with a buy-up of start-up companies like they were going out of style.
I think what bothers me the most is, like Microsoft, they are not interested in the customer experience any longer or even in simply making money — both of these are fine. No, it’s the patent laden hell they are trying to push onto the rest of the world that has my feathers in a ruffle.
With any luck, we can see more continued focus on the innovation and a little less of innovating while buying out anything that might be a potential speed bump to either company. I grew tired of watching that with Microsoft in the ’90s, and I’d rather not relive that nightmare again.
