Web Based Invoicing Options

Recently a friend of mine had asked me about his options for online for managing his invoices. My first thought, obviously was to look at Freshbooks. They have been around long enough with the kind of invoice management features most of us would be looking for. But they are a bit pricey, despite a strong feature set.

Then I also suggested looking at Zoho’s Invoice option, as it has a more flexible pricing for small businesses and freelancers. What struck me as interesting is that Zoho presented a more Google-like UI that is generally easier to navigate for people already familiar with Google applications.

So this brings me to you folks. If given the need, which of the two options would you use? Obviously the need has to be there, but you get the general idea. Hit the comments and let me know which option works best for you. I am  of the mind that Zoho is the best solution, but perhaps you can shed some light on why Freshbooks makes more sense for others out there making the same decision.

I don’t know about Zoho, but I’ve used FreshBooks, Cashboard, and Harvest:

    - FreshBooks is great but doesn’t have an option to automatically add a late fee if the invoice isn’t paid in X number of days. As a plus, they offer phone support for everyone (even free plans).

    - Cashboard (http://www.getcashboard.com/) is the slickest interface and is very easy to use (albeit not the Google-like UI as you mentioned). It also allows a late fee option. It’s too bad they only offer email support.

    - Harvest (http://www.getharvest.com/) is too confusing. I’ve used it from time to time, but it just isn’t as intuitive as the other two. They do offer phone support, though (not sure if only paid plans).

    Hope this helps!
