Archive Folders In Outlook Part II
If you’re anything like me, you likely prefer automation over having to do things manually. If so, you can take advantage of Outlook’s AutoArchive feature and let Outlook archive your folders for you based on the schedule and options you set.
To configure AutoArchive settings in Outlook 2007:
- Within Outlook, click the Tools menu and click Options.
- Click the Other tab.
- Click the AutoArchive button.
- The AutoArchive window appears. Configure the settings you want to use and click OK.
You can find out more about the specific AutoArchive settings here.
AutoArchive settings can also be set at the folder level. Keep in mind though, that if you select the Apply these settings to all folders now option (available from the AutoArchive window), individual folder AutoArchive settings will not apply.
To set archive settings at the folder level:
- Right-click the folder you want to archive.
- Click Properties.
- Select the AutoArchive tab.
- Configure the AutoArchive settings you want to apply to the folder.
- Click OK.
