AT&T Has A Suit For That

Microsoft and Apple have been exchanging advertising jabs for sometime now. And there is no question that at times, Apple can be pretty low to the gut with its claims that it is the best choice according to its commercials. And at one time, Apple even looked like it might sue Microsoft over advertising against its brand. Fairly comical considering how harsh its own ads were against Microsoft. What is truly comical is that both ads from both companies were spot-on.

But with Verizon and AT&T, it seems that it has actually come to legal action. But unlike MS and Apple, who have simply gone back to poking at each other with their commercials, AT&T knows full well it is not able to seriously dispute its lame 3G coverage to the world, so it is going to fight about map overlays instead. Sad.

AT&T’s network is so poor, that the claims of more bars borders on comedy in my honest opinion. Yes, AT&T is correct in stating that one can use its phones for data use outside of the “blue.” However, it fails to mention that you will likely find the phone freaking out trying to deal with spotty 3G coverage, which translates to missed and dropped calls.

The fact of the matter is that AT&T knows the ONLY thing of value it offers besides rollover minutes is the iPhone. Without that, it is of no value to those using mobile data based on my own personal experiences with extensive use in metro and rural areas. Clearly AT&T is nervousl; rightfully so.

One Comment

The iPhone is the only thing that keeps AT&T alive, they bring nothing else unique to the table - that a competitor could not easily jump in and do. Verizon has a far better network, and T-Mobile has far better rate plans and customer service (though it helps when their network actually works lol).
