T-Mobile Buying Sprint A Bad Thing?

Normally I am not a huge fan of mobile buyouts. After AT&T buying out Cingular years ago, I have found that these types of things make me a little nervous as to how they will affect the customer. And if AT&T has taught me anything with its Cingular buyout, it’s that these things can leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Flash forward to now and we are looking at something very similar. This time, however, we are looking at this taking place with T-Mobile and Sprint. Now, I have not had any real experience with either company. As a matter of fact, I have heard good things and bad things about both of them. The same can be said of any carrier I guess. But as I read this list provided by PCMag as to why the T-Mobile/Sprint merger should not happen, I found myself only really being concerned with the tech side of things.
Could there be compatibility issues with the different networks? Opinions aside, this seems like a fairly significant hurdle for both companies to overcome. I would be interested in your thoughts here — should existing customers be concerned? Perhaps, instead, the merger will only work to provide the existing base with better service? Hit the comments, sound off with how you see this going forward.

I believe you wil find Cingular purchased AT&T, not the other way around, Cingular wanted the name recognition and purchased the remains of a once great empire…

Actually Cingular bought AT&T Wireless in 2004. Then AT&T proper in 2007, bought Cingular.
