IE8 Vs. Firefox - Does It Really Matter?

I honestly have to ask why this article even bothers showing concern over Yahoo! now promoting IE8. Obviously considering the Yahoo!-Microsoft partnership, Yahoo! is likely going to recommend IE8. Is this a problem? Should we be worried?

No, why should we? Think about it. The fact of the matter is that most people use the browser that comes with their computer (Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) or they instead install and use the one that best meets their needs.

So is it wrong that Yahoo! has gone from promoting Firefox to Internet Explorer? Not at all; both are good browsers. At the end of the day, it’s just part of the deal. And being I am on a platform myself, this is not going to be offering IE8 anytime soon. I suppose I can look at this differently than Windows users. Frankly, it just does not affect me all that much.

Honestly, who cares about Yahoo ???

No one really uses Yahoo anymore, except for die-hard Yahoo Mail users… As of my Yahoo Mail address, I receive it in my regular Gmail… Much easier, and less spam !!! No adds at the end of the email !

Yahoo isn’t the shadow of what it was 8 years ago…

As of IE8… What can I say ? It just sucks, but you know I don’t care, because as many here, I am not on Windows, and only have to suffer IE when using another PC…

This isn’t about advertising the new IE8 to IE users who are using a previous version (or FF3.5 to users of older Firefox versions), this is about Yahoo recommending IE8 to Firefox users, without noting anywhere that this concerns an ad.

You said that IE8 and Firefox are both good browsers?
IE8 is NOT a good browser at all. In fact, if
you knew anything about website coding you would know that most people refer to it as “Internet exploder”.
Please don’t make the mistake of comparing
firefox and Internet explorer in front of any computer wizards
that you come across: they are poles apart!

What Do You Think?
