On the bright side, Comcast does have a relatively painless opt-out procedure, so if you're in IT and find that this breaks your VPN setup, at least you can direct your Comcast-using employees to a solution. They're obviously making money on this deal, but at least there is a way around it for people who care about such things. I completely agree that this service is unwelcome to anyone who understands what’s going on here. Why? Because it takes me a little bit to determine that I have actually reached the wrong page. Also, my first reaction was that I had somehow downloaded a virus.
