Oh, Moto, Whatever Are You Thinking?

I must admit this latest move from Motorola has me a bit perplexed. While I can see the benefit of seeking to use Android on its latest phones, I am not convinced the choice of keyboards is going to be a big hit.

Still, I think this will be one of many phones that will be moving to Android. As exciting as less exciting mobile operating systems happen to be, the fact of the matter is many people are looking for phones that can hold their own against the iPhone and the Pre. This of course, means using Android.

Another benefit is the fact that Amazon MP3 is available for Android. What is missing though, to the best of my knowledge, is TV and movies. You know, like we might find with the iPhone OS v3.x. Last I heard, there is no real movie store for the Android platform just yet. And no, YouTube is not what I am talking about.

Everything considered, I think Moto is making a good move here with the inclusion of Android in its mobile selection. What I would still very much love to see, however, is not including the old-school Razr themed keypad.
