Blu-ray Fails Netflix Users

The title might be a little misleading, so allow me to clarify. Netflix is seeing a surge of Blu-ray discs that are damaged, which is creating headaches for subscribers. This is not Sony’s doing, rather something going wrong with how Netflix is handling the discs as competitors are not seeing the same issues with the discs.

Maybe Netflix is using the same DVD packaging technology that is creating the damaged discs in the first place? After all, it is fairly common knowledge that Blu-ray discs are really easy to damage as they are rather weak in comparison to an old fashioned DVD.

Speaking for myself, I have yet to experience this as I still use my old DVD player. Despite owning an HD-TV myself, I have yet to bother spending the money on a Blu-ray player. Partly because I am quite happy with my existing DVD collection, but also due to the fact that I am just not a big fan of Blu-ray in general. I would be more likely to buy Amazon On-Demand movies in HD to be played on my Roku. Even if it does not look as good, at least I am supporting technology I believe in.
