If you want to get a little creative, you can change the picture that is assigned to a user account. If you do not want to be a flower, you can easily change the picture to either one of the stock photos included with Vista or your own photo.
To change the picture associated with a user account:
- Click the Start menu.
- Click the picture icon currently assigned to your account. The User Accounts window will open.
- Click the Change your picture option.
- To use one of the stick photos, click the photo you want to use and click Change Picture.
- To use one of your own pictures, click Browse for more pictures.
- Locate and select the picture you want to use and click Open.
As you learned in Part I, when you create a user account in Windows Vista, you must assign the account an account name. This is the name that will appear on the Vista welcome screen and on the Start menu when the user is logged in. At some point, you may decide that you want to change the name assigned to the user account. The steps to do so are very simple:
- Click Start and click Control Panel.
- Click the User Accounts and Family Safety option. If you are in Classic View, click the User Accounts icon.
- Click the Change you account name option.
- Type in the new account name within the New account name field.
- Click the Change Name button.
Finally, if you no longer need a user account, it should be deleted. Once deleted, you can no longer log on to the computer using that user name and password. To delete a user account in XP:
- Click Start and click Control Panel.
- Click the User Accounts and Family Safety option. If you are in Classic View, click the User Accounts icon.
- Click the account you want to delete.
- Click on Delete the account.
- If you want to keep the files associated with the user account, click Keep Files. Otherwise, click Delete Files.
- Click Delete Account.
The account is permanently deleted for your computer.

This works, … but how do I get rid of the photo greeting altogether as in other “Classic” modes?
