Psystar – Still Here – Still OS X

Despite Apple going to court over Psystar’s use of OS X on non-Apple authorized hardware, Psystar continues to sell a multitude of “PCs.” But as if trying to make things worse for Apple, it seems that Psystar is now ready to launch yet another OS X powered PC.

But it should also be pointed out that despite their perspective on using Apple’s OS X on their machines, Psystar is also using Linux and Windows on their PCs as well. I suppose this provides some level of balance, although I think they are on Pluto with the idea of running a crappy Celeron CPU with a single Gig or RAM with Vista. It’ll run, but it’ll run like syrup in a keyhole.

The idea of purchasing a PC, running the ever-popular OS X for WELL under a grand with reasonably high-end hardware is pretty darn attractive. But I do find myself wondering how attractive this will be once Apple starts finding ways of making OS X updates near impossible in the future for those people running these machines. Not saying it will happen, but I would hardly put it past Apple in the future.

Talk about your choices! I’m amazed that Psystar will give custermers what they want including their choice of operating systems. The only thing missing is a Windows OS clone.

It seems like every time a company tries to lock down their software they just make the problem worse. Windows Live Game is a a great example, where you can use any CD-Key to get any game.

wait, why would you want to clone windows? lol unless you can fix its problems

This is one of the reasons why Micro$oft will always have the biggest market share in the OS scene. I think that Apple should let this company do their thing as long as they’re selling legal copies of OS X.
