3D TV - Do We Really Want This?

No matter how hard I might try, I still find myself feeling a bit intimidated by the very idea of 3D TV. Not so much due to what it would likely cost as it rolls out, rather what first person shooter video games will be like on the XBox. Seriously, do we need to make gaming THAT realistic? Seems a bit overboard to me. So despite always being interested in bigger television, the idea of having it walking around my living room honestly freaks me out like nobody’s business.
Then there is the cost to produce programming that would support it. Seems to me that we just got over the hurdle of paying for the cost of the big HD upgrade here recently. Something tells me that studios are not really interested in spending yet more money on something that is arguably, taking away from the TV viewing experience.
I cannot speak for everyone out there, but for my money, I will keep things 2D for as long as possible. I am just not ready to watch my wife’s favorite programming in 3D yet. After all, the programming is already “in my face”. The last thing I really am interested in doing is enhancing it.

Like yourself i feel that there is no need to go 3D gaming, but on the other hand i would love to be able to have my favourite singers in glorious 3D, so that when i watch them in concert i am there part of the thing..
