So far, we have looked at slide transitions and custom animations. The final piece we are going to look at is narration. PowerPoint lets you narrate your slide show. You can record your narration and play it as the presentation runs.
To use this feature, you must have a soundcard in your computer and a microphone to record your narration.
To set up narration:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation.
- Select the slide you want to start recording on.
- From the Slide Show menu, click Record Narration.
- Click the Set Microphone Level.
- Use the slider to set the microphone level and click OK.
- Click Ok.
- Within the slide show view, use the microphone and speak the narrative text. Click in the slide to progress through the presentation. You can pause the narration at any time by right clicking the slide and selecting the Pause Narration option.
- Repeat step 7 until you have completed all your narration.
- To save your narration and timings, click Save.
When you run the presentation, the slides will progress according to the narration you set up in the steps above.
