Is Verizon FiOS Booming?

For me personally, FiOS is the least of the ISP evils. And as it turns out, the service appears to be popping up everywhere these days. But knowing this brought up an interesting question for me personally - do people base their living arrangements around their Internet connectivity needs?
Myself for instance, live based on broadband availability. So it is obvious that I refuse to live in an area where at least DSL, Cable or the equivalent is not available. I suppose this would be less important if I did not work from home, but even if it was just for personal use, I would have a really hard time with living an area where broadband was not available.
So what say you? Does your location have anything to do with your Internet access needs? If you were presented with an opportunity to live somewhere better without the same level of Internet connectivity, would you still be willing to make the move? Hit the comments, share your thoughts on this.

Is there any other consideration?

I am currently getting ready to move out of my current DSL area, I hate going into an area without any broadband available, but I just got it 2 years ago anyway.
In rural Missouri (or any rural area) we get to sit back and see the urban areas with a choice of broadband and the new services like FiOS going into areas where those alternative services are available, I guess they follow the money where the larger customer bases are and then fight for a piece of the pie.
I for one though, will not let technology control me but make it work for me, don’t get me wrong, high speed internet is important for me, but I will find an alternative even if I have home brew some sort of long range wifi.
I enjoy living in the country and I guess that takes priority for me over whatever services I can gain by living in a more populated area.

Don’t know if you count it as “equivalent”… but if you find the 600kbps UP / 1300kbps DOWN (varies) speeds of wireless broadband acceptable — you are able to consider alot more locations.
I don’t get cable, DSL or fiber… so I find EVDO to be the best choice for me (over dial-up and satellite).
Good luck at your new house!

Not a chance. Having lived through the “good old days” of dial-up, I’m too spoiled now by Road Runner service to go back to it.
