RoboTask - 2008

It is truly amazing how things can come back full circle. Take me warming up an old Windows XP box today for work related research. After doing some tinkering, I came to the conclusion that I need something to make repetitive tasks a little bit simpler. And because they had to be done off of a Windows box, it only made complete sense to go full circle.

Back in 2005, I was very excited about the prospect of RoboTask to handle a number of annoying repetitive tasks that I needed to keep up on a day to day basis. In that case, they were sFTP related and RoboTask was definitely up to the task.

These days, I am going to be looking at re-introducing RoboTask into my world as I have a list of things I am going to see if it can handle for me. The biggest question and hope I have, is whether it is able to recognize data from RSS feeds, thus executing tasks according to the results of each feed. I tend to doubt it, however I suspect I can find another way to make up some sort of automated solution if need be.
