Totally not a convention sort of guy. The only one I ever enjoyed was my two trips to Gnomedex, which was always worth my time and expense. Now, in the past, I have been invited to a few other cool press events, most of which I do not talk about much. Google headquarters for the latest KDE release party was one event I had to turn down as it was simply not enough notice for me to get away. But this time I simply could not say no, for two reasons. One reason I can share and the other is part of an unrelated business meeting afterward

This year, I will attending a CES press only event put on by ShowStoppers. Let me just say that getting into an event like this is simply amazing, I certainly feel honored. Simply reading through this PDF file will illustrate why I say this with such enthusiasm. Shoulder to shoulder with every three letter media outlet you can think of from the Rolling Stone Mag to CNN. Needless to say, I am looking forward to representing all my press related gigs in this event and I can hardly wait to see what the next “big thing in tech” is. Should be a real blast. And who is to say, I may stay for other aspects of CES as well. We’ll just have to see what my schedule looks like.
