Booting Ubuntu On XP With A Mac?

Today, Rob asks:
I am planning on buying a mac when leopard is released and I was thinking about running xp with boot camp. Then I thought would Wubi work on the xp side of things if I was using boot camp?
Awesome news on the upcoming Mac purchase, I am sure you will love it. As for adding Wubi to your XP install on the Mac, I think you might simply be better off sticking with OS X and XP. Think I am nuts? Let me explain. First of all, you ought to realize that OS X and Linux share a lot of the same funcionality. Heck, you can even run some Linux applications on OS X directly. If you are bent on it, you may find some help here. I would remind you that it is quite geeky and frankly, I would not do this on our Mac as I prefer standalone machines to dual and tri-booting any day of the week.
Do you have an IT-related question? Perhaps you are just burnt out on writing on the walls with crayons? Whatever the comments may be, drop me a line, and you too can “Just Ask Matt!”

Wouldn’t the easy way of attempting to run Ubuntu on Leopard that already has Windows XP installed using Boot Camp be to purchase Parallels and run Ubuntu virtually when in Leopard. It seems to be the easy way to tri-boot in my opinion.

Even better, VMWare Fusion. :)
