USB Compatible Router

Today, Jim asks:
I have a USB broadband setup and am trying to see if anyone makes a router/firewall that can work with this. It would have to accept a USB input and could I run a Ethernet to my desktop or perhaps a card and share the connection?? I know that I am probably dreaming but it would be nice to share.
I’d start out by losing the USB setup, as it offers no value based on my experience. From there, getting a decent router into place becomes much easier. I have been very happy with the D-Link DGL-4300. While others will disagree with this, I have never had good experiences with anything from Netgear or Linksys.
Now, if you remain heck-bent on using USB, then this might be an alternative, be it one I cannot personally give a thumbs up due to my feelings on Linksys products. With that said, it appears to support USB as you need. Good luck to you.
Do you have an IT-related question? Perhaps you are just burnt out on writing on the walls with crayons? Whatever the comments may be, drop me a line, and you too can “Just Ask Matt!”

Hello,
I have a 37db wireless antenna with the wifi card all in one and it has a usb cord. Now i can plug it in my laptop with no problem and it will work but i have 2 computers and i want to mount that antenna on top of the house and connect it to a router so that i can have wifi anywhere in the house for my 2 computers and not have to have the antenna anywhere i go with my laptop around the house. My friend has really high speed internet and i agree with him to pay half of the bill and that is why i bought this antenna.
Any suggestions will be helpful.
Thank You
Wally

Noted your comment about usb router on October 2. I plan to use the Cradlepoint CTR350 with the Sierra Wireless 595U card. I will be using it in a home environment (actually 3 home locations + motorhome) Care to comment??

I noticed that you had negative comments about USB routers on Oct 2. I am planning to use the Cradlepoint CTR350 which will use a USB input from a Sierra Wireless 595U connecting through Sprint. I will be using it in several homes and motorhomewhen I travel. Any comments or problems you see?
