Now This Is What I Call Broadband!

Wow, talk about speed! This is the kind of broadband connection that I think we’d all love to enjoy. Imagine living in a home where 40 Gb/s connection was a reality! And I must admit, there is something to be said for having more fiber in my diet, that’s for sure.

Could we ever see these kinds of speeds here in the states? Not too likely I don’t imagine as this is a unique example of some networking ingenuity. Still, I among others hold out hope for consistancy and less restrictions, rather than ‘faster’ speeds from my Internet connection. Because in the beginning, the Internet was about freedom, so let’s hope that bandwidth throttling among other hassles can eventually be put to bed. I’d take that over improved speeds any day.

Hi Matt,
You know, about one year ago I was reading in news about the under-use of the installed internet broadband (refer to Canada and US). It seems that in 2000 year, with the predicted development (at that time), they (ISPs) have aquired and installed hardware which today is used at about 15%… On the ordinary phone lines with the new BPX, you can have 1MB at least (~ 10 Mbps), which is more than 2-5 times they offer.
I gues 40Gbps is really too much, but 20-40 Mbps it could be nice!
