Cyberattacks In Russia

I keep hearing these reports of how the world is going to be at the business end of a cyber attack. And while I certainly don’t deny the intention, I simply cannot bring myself to believe that our infrastructure is that interconnected without some sort of common sense safeguards in place. Now we have reports coming in that Russia could also be putting itself at risk from infrastructure targeted cyberattacks. The biggest concern appears to be the Russian electrical grid.

Another concern experts have with Russia is the lack of clear anti-computer crime laws like we have here in the U.S. So one has to ask, is Russia at a greater risk than other countries that have clearer preventive laws on the books? I should think so.

And best of all, we also have to consider that Russia’s infrastructure is reportedly more networked than elsewhere. If this is true, it could spell trouble for Russia and its infrastructure security.
